Dubai’s Public Prosecution Bureau has closed its examination of allegations against Mauritian businessman Shaan Kundomal, finding no criminal offense occurred and dismissing the case at the prosecution stage before any charges were filed.
From the outset, Kundomal contested the accusations. His legal team characterizes the allegations as false and malicious. Throughout the proceedings, he cooperated fully with authorities, submitting detailed explanations and written observations for official review. The prosecution, after examining the complete file, determined there was no case to answer.
Dentons Mauritius LLP, acting on behalf of both Kundomal and Aurevya Wealth Ltd, confirmed that their client has been released unconditionally. No charges have been filed. No ongoing investigation exists. No restrictions remain in place against him in the United Arab Emirates, where he resides, and he is now free to move and travel without limitation.
On the ground in Dubai, Kundomal engaged Fatema Saif Almheiri Advocates to manage his defense and coordinate communications with local authorities throughout the investigation phase. Their involvement proved instrumental in navigating the proceedings.
By contrast with how such cases can drag across jurisdictions, the resolution came at the prosecutorial level, sparing the matter from advancing to a formal trial. Dentons Mauritius LLP emphasized in its statement that the decision reflects the authorities’ assessment that the allegations lacked substantiation, a conclusion that amounts to formal closure of the matter.
The case details and the nature of the original allegations remain part of the official record. What the prosecution’s conclusion makes clear, however, is that no infraction was established. Kundomal’s legal team stressed his consistent position throughout: that the accusations were without merit and that his full cooperation would demonstrate as much. It did.
The dismissal allows Kundomal to resume his activities in the UAE without legal impediment. His representatives have stated that no further proceedings are anticipated. Whether the parties behind the original allegations pursue any other avenue remains an open question.
